Your tea room, your device

Privacy Policy

Effective: October 20, 2026
Last updated: October 21, 2026

Zilmi is a gongfu tea journal. This policy describes the information the current app uses, where it is stored, and the choices you have.

1. Information you choose to record

You can save a display name, profile photo, tea lots, tea liquor photos, infusion numbers, leaf dose, water temperature, steep time, tasting notes, optional spoken notes, session comparisons, and experiment reports. Zilmi also keeps a local coin balance and a record of processed App Store transaction identifiers so a purchase is not credited twice.

The app creates a local profile ID. Entering the journal requires reviewing and accepting the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy; it does not require an email address or password.

2. Where your journal is stored

Your tea journal, imported or captured photos, notes, reports, profile details, and coin balance are stored on your device. Signing out keeps this local data. The in-app Delete Account action erases the local journal, profile, reports, photos, and coin balance. Uninstalling the app removes its local data under iOS behavior. There is currently no account sync or cross-device balance recovery.

Color progression and experiment reports are created from the photos and brew settings you have recorded. The app does not send these records to an AI provider or generate AI reviews. Sample content in the in-app Plaza is held locally; using it does not publish your journal to other users.

3. Camera, photos, and microphone

With your permission, the camera captures tea liquor photos, the photo library lets you import images you select, and the microphone records an optional spoken tasting note only when you start recording. These items are saved locally for the journal features you use. You can change permission choices in iOS Settings. Zilmi does not request access to contacts, location, or health data for its brew features.

4. Coins and App Store purchases

Apple processes one-time consumable coin purchases and refunds. Zilmi receives a product identifier and transaction result needed to credit coins and avoid duplicate credits. We do not receive your payment card number or Apple ID password. In the current app, the coin balance and transaction ledger are stored locally. The first three experiment reports are free; later reports cost 26 coins each.

5. Network services and sharing

Opening these policy pages connects your browser or in-app web view to our website hosting service, which may receive standard technical request data such as an IP address and browser information to serve and protect the pages. App Store purchases connect to Apple under Apple's privacy practices. The current app does not transmit your tea photos, spoken notes, or brew records to an AI service or other users. It does not request App Tracking Transparency permission or use an advertising identifier for tracking.

6. Your choices and retention

You can edit or delete supported journal entries and profile details in the app. To remove all locally stored account and journal data, use Delete Account in Profile. You may also contact us about privacy questions or applicable rights. Purchase and payment records held by Apple are governed by Apple's own retention rules. The website hosting service may retain technical access logs according to its retention practices.

We use the security features provided by iOS and encrypted HTTPS connections for these pages. No storage or network transmission is perfectly secure. This policy will be updated if the app's data practices change; material changes will be brought to your attention where required.

7. Children

Zilmi is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us.
